How to Look Slimmer Easily

February 15, 2011
Do you have at least one garment in your closet that you never wear because it makes you look fat? Maybe you take it out and try it on every now and then but it still doesn't flatter. It doesn't matter what you weigh you can easily make yourself look fat with the wrong clothes. Learn these basic camouflage rules and you'll never make the same mistake again.

1. Avoid anything stiff. A stiff garment forms a square box around you. It doesn't fall into flattering loose folds but stands out on its own making even skinny people look large. Having a shape is important whatever your size.
2. The same goes for the large tents that we try to camouflage ourselves in. It doesn't work we just look larger. Shape is needed.
3. Other than in your accessories don't wear anything shiny. Shiny is great for jewelry, bags, decorative motifs, scarves, but not for a whole garment. Shine reflects the light making you look bigger and showing every curve and bump.
4. You know about avoiding horizontal stripes but are you aware of hidden stripes? A belt in a contrasting shade, large top pockets, contrasting ribbing on the bottom of a jersey? These are all stripes and can make you look larger than you wish. Look carefully at a garment to check for these design traps and avoid them.
5. Conversely, subtle vertical stripes are (usually) your friend. Find them in a garment's style and stitching, a deeply cut V-necked jacket, a silk scarf hanging loosely, long beads, the drape of pants or skirt etc.
6. But vertical stripes on tightly clinging leggings or pants are not flattering. The stripes follow your curves, emphasizing them cruelly.
7. Avoid bulky fabrics such as quilted parkas- these often offend on two counts, one by horizontally machined quilting and another by too much padding. They look enormous and so does anyone who wears them. Thick mohair jumpers are another fattener. Thinner fabrics, such as polar fleece, can be equally warm so there is no need to bulk up.
8. On the other hand don't buy cheap thin fabrics. A fabric must have enough body to hang well rather than clinging. Even T-Shirts in cheap thin fabrics look dreadful and they don't last as long so are not really cheaper. Buy fewer and buy quality.
9. Monochrome dressing is slimming and elegant. Dress in one color from top to toe, preferably a dark neutral. For interest vary textures or add color in your accessories. A plain black outfit with a turquoise silk scarf or bright pink earrings for example.
10. Don't wear frills and ruffles if you have passed your 10th birthday. They add bulk and look tacky.
11. Beware of clothes that are too small, they are fattening. Not only are they unflattering but wearing them makes you feel fat all day. If a garment is tight chuck it out or pack it away until it fits again.
12. If you have put on a pound or two don't forget to check your bra. Does it still fit? Its so easy to forget and to keep wearing a bra that fitted once. Badly fitting bras create horrible bulges across your back, treat yourself to a new one.

If you bear these tips in mind when shopping for clothes you will have a much better chance of losing a pound or two and looking great.

Beauty with Silvers

February 9, 2011
Well polished silver is a shiny white metal that reminds one of moonlight. Silver is a cool color. A silvery color resembling reflective surfaces at night when moon beams hit them. The lake at night for example. The light that silver jewelry casts on the wearer is light moonlight. Lighting her features softly. In a very flattering light. That said, silver can make a woman look her most beautiful.

Silver is a cool color. It enhances other cool colors beautifully. Silver brings out the best in black, blue, pure white and other true colors. If you look great in black, you should have a jewelry wardrobe full of silver jewelry. If you look good in black, blue or fuschia outfits, you have cool skin tones. You WILL look amazing in anything silver. Get a selection of silver outfits to suit the personality you want to project.

If you have cool skin tones, anything silvery would look good on you. Decorate you home with silver accents as the silver would subtly enhance your beauty in your home. Drive a silver car, carry a silver bag. Basically surround yourself with silver items or silver trimmed things for that cool, flattering light.

On the other hand, if you have warm skin tones, what do you do? If you look great in earth tones, but terrible in black or blue, chances are that you have warm skin tones. Gold jewelry would be a better bet. You would look way better in gold accessories instead. You are better off avoiding large, plain, purely silver jewelry as these would probably clash with your coloring.

Still, even if you have warm skin tones, you can get away with some types of silver jewelry. Just pick silver jewelry that is intertwined with gold in the design. Or you could easily carry off silver jewelry that is really small. In fact, you can look fabulous wearing silver jewelry set with stones with warm earthy colors. Try wearing your silver set with amber for example. Wear silver if it is used to set something in a warm color that flatters you.

While polished silver is a bright white, silver tarnishes easily. With time, silver turns black. Constant polishing keeps it white and shiny, but some pieces look better as they tarnish. I used to make jewelry. some of the silver beads in my collection have rather intricate designs. The etched parts tarnish first, turning black, showing off the design beautifully. Adding character to the bead. Those beads look best when only the surface is polished. A thorough polishing so that even the etched parts turn white would result in beautifully white, shiny beads without much character.

Let your intricately designed silver jewelry tarnish slightly, to give it more character. More so than keeping it perfectly polished at all times.

Silver is an interesting metal used in jewelry making. Thanks to its price, it is often used to set semi-precious stones and to create more adventurous designs. The artisan can afford to take more risks when working with less expensive materials than the costlier ones. It is one of the basics you need in your jewelry wardrobe.

Secrets of Cologne

Here are two secrets many people don't know:
1. Women are a more attracted to smell than most men realize.
2. A person's sense of smell is one of the longest lasting memories we have.
You may forget a face or a name, but you'll remember a smell for much, much longer. So finding a good Cologne is very important, especially if you are guy in the "dating scene."

How cologne is made
Cologne developers create their signature brands from nine scents, which are called "notes." Every cologne is made up of some combination of the following (which are listed from the lightest scents to the heaviest scents):

Citrus - very bright and light
Herbal
Fruit
Floral
Spice
Wood
Musk
Powder
Leather - very heavy and thick.

Polo Sport, for example, is primarily a dominant floral note while English Leather is a dominant leather note. Your father's Brut is a musk/powder combination.

How to buy cologne that is right for you
All too often, cologne is selected based on price, the shape of the bottle, and how it smells. But when you're shopping for cologne, you need to remember that your sense of smell can only detect three distinct smells before it gets overwhelmed and starts to report inaccurately to your brain.

Instead, you can shop for cologne much more easily: by pictures. Check out the advertising and see what kind of niche the cologne is marketing to: is it the rugged outdoorsman as advertised in an outdoor lifestyle magazine? Is it the active sports-lover in a magazine about basketball? Is it the suave urbane male in a men's fashion magazine? Cologne companies will market their brands to the type of person it is designed for. So if you are "going for a certain look," the marketing department of the cologne companies can help you select the right scent for you.

Just remember, it is not you that is going to be reacting to its smell. It's that beautiful woman who you want to enjoy it and with smell closely linked to memory, you want her to remember you for a long, long time!

Different Cuts of Diamonds

Diamonds are hot favorites all over the world not only because of their dazzling beauty, but also because they are so versatile; they look good on anyone and match everything. Diamonds come in many styles and varieties, called cuts. The value of a diamond in terms of price and popularity depends on the various cuts. The more popular cuts are more expensive than the less popular cuts. This is because the cut of the diamond enhances its beauty. So, you can see two diamonds of equal weight but cut differently with a price difference of hundreds of dollars.

The most popular cut in diamonds is the round cut. When diamonds are cut to look like circles they sparkle brightly. A round brilliant cut is one of the most expensive cuts of diamond. Round cut diamonds are very popular on engagement rings because they look beautiful as part of a multi-stone ring or as a solitaire. The round cut diamond looks nice on practically any hand.

The princess cut is of marginal popularity. It looks good as a solitaire or in a three-stone setting with smaller princess cut diamonds on either side of a large diamond. A princess cut looks like a square and can be faceted to sparkle. Rings made with princess cut diamonds tend to make fingers look shorter and stubbier, so they are not the right choice for those with already short fingers. Those with long fingers can wear a princess cut without any hesitation whatsoever.

One of the least expensive of cuts for diamonds is the emerald cut. It costs a lot less than a round brilliant diamond. Emerald cut looks like a rectangle, and is cut to appear layered. It gets its name because this is the way emeralds have always been cut. The emerald, being softer than the diamond, often got fractured in the process of cutting. Then the experts discovered that the emerald could be cut in a special way to preserve its integrity. This gave emeralds more life, and it became fashionable to wear emeralds. Soon it was discovered that diamonds could also be cut in this fashion, and the cut was called the emrald cut.

Diamonds with a marquis cut look like thin ovals with pointed ends. This cut makes the fingers look longer and adds elegance to any hand. This cut is already more popular than the emerald cut. It is usually worn as a solitaire or as the center of a multi-stone ring. However, if all the stones are not marquis cut, a multi-stone ring with something else as the center looks odd with marquis side stones.

There are other styles of diamonds also such as baguette and pave, which are mainly used for side stones to provide accents. Once you know what type of cut you like, and what enhances the beauty of your hand, you can get a ring set with your favorite cut diamonds.

Gemstone Treatments

August 15, 2010
Though not common knowledge to the public, most gemstones are treated in some way to enhance their color and clarity. An untreated gemstone is a rarity. These treatments are common and widely accepted in the industry and normally do not de-value the stone. Most retail jewelers do not divulge this information to their buying public or they themselves are not aware. If they are a reputable and ethical establishment then they will be honest if queried on the subject. Don't expect this information to be offered without inquiring first.

Heat treatment is the most common method used to color enhance gems.Tanzanite, which has become a very popular gemstone in jewelry and to collect is heat treated to obtain that gorgeous cornflower blue color with lavender tones and flashes of red. The rough must be heated to 600 degrees; otherwise, Tanzanite as we know it wouldn't exist.

Colored diamonds (which do occur naturally) are irradiated to obtain those most sought after colors of red and blue. Naturally colored diamonds are very, very costly and rare. The “Hope” diamond is an example of a natural blue diamond. Natural colored diamonds can come in a rainbow of colors such as blue, brown, yellow, orange, red, purple, pink, and green, but the cost is just to prohibitive for most people to obtain. Irradiated diamonds create those beautiful colors at a cost which is more affordable. Natural colored diamonds are radiated in the earth's crust which takes millions of years. Man has learned how to speed up the process and produce those same colors in the laboratory. Champagne and yellow diamonds are more abundant in nature and are not usually irradiated to obtain their color.

Topaz is another gemstone which requires treatment to obtain the colors it's known for such as the “London Blue” color which takes about 18 months to process. A recent popular color is called “Mystic Fire” which is a rainbow of colors in the same gem. Another popular color is pink. Pink topaz is much more affordable than pink sapphire. Pink is one of the most popular colors in gemstone jewelry. The “Mystic Fire” color was created by a process called bulk diffusion. Topaz naturally is white (also called silver) or the golden-peach color known as “precious” or “imperial” topaz which is the most rare and expensive of topaz. Due to the demand for the other colors such as Swiss Blue, London Blue, Pink, Mango, Neptune Blue, Mystic Fire, etc. white topaz (which is needed to create colored topaz) has become more and more scarce and risen in cost.

There are a number of gemstones that don't require nor will they take any kind of enhancement treatment. Their colors occur naturally right out of the earth. They only needed to be cut and polished to show off their beauty. Those gems that come to mind are garnets, chrome diopside, red spinel, and peridot. Untreated gemstones are more rare and therefore may fetch a higher price than treated gemstones. As a collector or investor I would seek the non-enhanced variety if available and affordable.

Which Color Is Right For Your Hair?

June 19, 2010

Hair color correction is a big money maker in salons nationwide. The reason: over-the-counter hair coloring products have given consumers the impression that hair color is easy and extremely affordable. One look at a professionally-colored model on a commercial or glossy magazine page, and many people clamor to the closest drug store to purchase a $5 box of color with the hopes of receiving a $50 salon look.

The results are often disastrous, and it can take hundreds of dollars to correct a hair color problem that could have been prevented with just a tiny bit of knowledge and planning.

The most common problem seen with hair coloring at home and in salons is choosing a hair color that is too light for the natural shade of hair. Realistically, color can only lighten hair beautifully by a few shades. If you go any lighter than a few shades, you need to choose a high-lift product such as bleach or a professional highlighting system. Failure to do this often results in hair color that is much too brassy or even orange.

Word to the wise: high-lift hair coloring should only be performed by professionals. The controlled chemicals used in the process, if used incorrectly, can result in irreparable damage and/or chemical burns on the scalp and skin.

Another hair color mistake that is seen quite often is choosing a color that is too dark. Extremely dark hair color can be the most challenging to correct because dark color can actually stain the cortex (inner layer) of the hair, making it almost impossible to lighten. Again, avoid choosing hair colors that are more than a few shades darker than your own to prevent a costly cortex stain.

When it comes to choosing the right shade of hair color to use, pick tones and shades that flatter your skin tone. Choose warm shade of hair color (reds and warm browns) if you look best in warm-colored clothing such as reds, pinks and oranges. Choose a cool shade (beige, pale blonde highlights and neutral colors) if you look best in blues and greens.

As you can see, just a little bid of planning and knowledge can save you from costly hair coloring disasters. And by making an informed decision before you purchase hair color, you will not only save money, you will also save your hair from needless damage.

Hair color is a chemical, and every time you chemically process your hair, you damage it to some extent. The damage can be minimal, as is usually the case with high-end professional hair coloring systems, or can be extreme. And each time you use hair color to correct a problem, you are damaging your hair even more.

Here are just a few tell-tale signs that your hair has been over processed with hair color and other chemicals.

" The hair is limp and dull, and no amount of styling can bring back its luster and bounce.
" The hair color has faded dramatically, and you are left with brassy and banded hair color. (Banded hair color is evident by the sudden change of hair color along the hair shaft. For example: the hair may be dark until about 2" from the scalp where it turns a brassy orange.)
" The hair is extremely dry and brittle. When it is wet, it is almost impossible to comb it without causing breakage.

You can avoid damage to your hair caused by hair coloring by taking the same precautions recommended for choosing the right hair color. Choosing the right hair color reduces the amount of color applications, therefore, reducing the chances of your hair becoming over processed.

How to Care Your Leather Jacket

Prevention is Your Best Option
When you first bring your leather jacket home, you want to condition and waterproof it. After that, proper care will keep it looking fabulous for years. In fact, did you know that with proper care, leather out wears denim 20 to 1? I've heard stories where a good quality, well maintained leather jacket can last as long as 50 years!
Find out everything you can about your leather jacket, get the right stuff and set aside time for mandatory cleaning. If you don't do it yourself, then pay a pro to clean your leather jacket for you. You can thank me later for that tip!

Leather Jacket Repair
How can you repair the sleeves on your leather jacket when the edges are cracking, without making the leather weak or super soft?
If you have any loose edges, you can actually tack them up with a small dab of rubber cement which is sold at most grocery or retail stores. If the edges are not torn but just starting to look rough, one of the best options is for you to use a combination of mink oil and beeswax.

Typically this concoction is sold as paste, making it easy to apply. While it helps to improve those rough spots, it does soften but not too much. This combination will also help preserve the leather and prevent stains.

Leather Jacket Maintainence and Restoration
One of the top products you can buy for your leather jacket is called Lexol. This brand is excellent for restoring worn leather, bringing it back to its natural state. Another professional cleaner/conditioner is called Fiebing's All Purpose Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. It too helps restore leather that is worn while also helping to prevent water spots, stains, and even cracking.
Another great product that does it all, conditions, waterproofs, preserves, softens, and restores leather is called Snow-Proof. This product has no color or odor and is excellent on leather jackets as well as boots and shoes. Best of all, it will not leave a greasy feel.

Carnauba Cream will also help to restore and smooth out your leather jacket. It helps to resist scratches and finger prints and does a great job of restoration. One other product you should investigate is called Leather Balm with Atom Wax. This particular product was formulated specifically for leather to help with preserving and restoring. It also helps produce a nice soft, natural finish.

I suggest doing some research on these products before settling on one. Type the product name into a search engine and read up on their different properties. Prices and results will vary depending on the application.

How to Dress Slimmer and Look Thinner

April 26, 2008
Check these tips for your slimmer dressing and thinner looks.
Everyone's weight fluctuates. While not everyone can be a size 6 or 8, the clothes you wear can make you look thinner, or have the opposite affect, it's your choice. You don't need to completely cover your body if you have extra weight, and not every tip will work for you. You have some great features, so accentuate them and accessorize. Find out what best flatters your figure and stick with it. A small weight gain will make your clothes feel tighter, so always have some "fat" clothes available for those occasions and don't feel bad. Every woman experiences this. You can dress slimmer and look thinner with these simple tips.

Tips to Dress Slimmer
  • Choose darker solid colors such as black, navy blue and gray. Black rules!
  • Dress monochromatic, all in one color, top to bottom, no patterns.
  • If you want to wear patterns, go for smaller ones that overlap.
  • Avoid horizontal stripes. Look for thin vertical and and diagonal lines for a fluid look.
  • Select accessories to draw attention from trouble spots.
  • Wear clothes that fit. Not too baggy but not tight and clingy.
  • Avoid bulky sweaters and sweatshirts.
  • Always try on clothes. Different designers have different size charts.
  • Avoid pleats. Flat front pants and skirts are instant slimmers.
  • Low-rise pants that hit just below your navel will lengthen your torso.
  • For longer looking legs, skirts should fall right above the knee.
  • Forego the frills. Extra ruffles and material only add bulk.
  • If you have a large bust, invest in a good support bra.
  • Avoid shiny fabrics such as velour and satin.
  • High heels add height and shapes your legs. That's why you always see runway models in heels.
  • Dark panty hose will make large legs appear thinner.
  • Stay away from patterned leggings.
  • Wear undergarment foundations such as control top pantyhose and shapers.
  • If you prefer wearing a sleeveless dress, cover your upper arms with a sheer, elegant shawl.
  • Choose open collar shirts and scoop necklines.
  • Avoid small handbags. Stick with a medium-sized bag in proportion to your body.
  • A dress with matching coat can hide bulges.
  • Match your belt and shoes to your skirt or pants to make your legs appear longer.
  • Don't tuck your shirt in. Buy those that fall just below your waist, but aren't too long.
  • V-neck shirts will make your torso appear longer.
  • You can still wear bright colors, just not on your problem areas.
  • Frilly clothes are a no-no and just add to your overall size.
  • Avoid too-tight pants that cling to your hips and thighs. Instead, try trousers with comfortable legs and wide cuffs.
  • For longer, thinner-looking legs, opt for an asymmetrical, tiered skirt.
  • If you're a petite woman, wear the highest heel you're comfortable with to add some height.
  • A thick waistband helps flatten the tummy.
Not to difficult, don't you.

Ten Men's Tips for Successful and Good Dressing

April 23, 2008
Men, before you start your beautiful day. It is easy to make your dressing stay cool with confidence. Here are ten tips for your successful and good dressing.
  1. Invest in quality tailored clothing that will stand the test of time. Buy conservative suits and trousers that won't be out of style next season, and use dress shirts and accessories to personalize your fashion statement.
  2. Find a competent tailor and treat him/her very well. Proper alterations on suits, trousers and sport coats are critical to your appearance.
  3. Be a bit adventurous when matching shirts and ties. A large patterned necktie will work quite well with a small patterned dress shirt, and vice versa. For example, pair a paisley tie with a micro-check dress shirt.
  4. Make certain that your shoes are shined and appropriate for the rest of your ensemble. For example, don't wear penny loafers with a suit, or cap toe dress shoes with chinos.
  5. Do not underestimate the importance of accessorizing properly. Your belt should match your shoes and your socks should coordinate with your trousers.
  6. Make yourself "perspiration proof." Always wear an undershirt beneath your dress shirt, and carry a handkerchief to wipe perspiration from your hands or brow.
  7. Purchase a small, fold-up umbrella and keep it in your briefcase at all times. Nothing takes the crispness out of a man's appearance like an unexpected rain shower.
  8. Unless you are in a profession where artistic flair is expected, always try to err on the side of dressing too conservatively.
  9. Emulate (but do not copy) your boss, or other senior executives at your company, in your manner of dress.
  10. Never wear anything that you are not totally comfortable with. People will sense that something is not quite right.
So, let cheer your happy day.

How to Measure Bra Size

November 18, 2007
Are you women fell hard to measure your breast size and fix into your bra? Here is how to measure bra size before your shopping time come next month. How to Measure Bra Size? First put on your favorite bra that you think makes your breasts the right shape and feels most comfortable. Next you will need to find a flexible measuring tape (the kind a seamstress would use). You may also need to grab a trusted friend to help you measure, since it is difficult to keep the tape level around your body. The first measurement to take is around your ribcage, just below your breasts. Now add 5 to this number to get your band size. If the resulting band size was an odd number, you will need to round up to the next even number since bra bands only come in even numbers.

The second measurement should be taken around the fullest part of your bosom with your favorite bra on. This measurement is your cup size. Next subtract your band size from your cup size to calculate the right cup size. Refer to the bra cup size chart below:

Bra Size Chart
1” larger than measurement 1--------------------A
2” larger than measurement 1--------------------B
3” larger than measurement 1--------------------C
4” larger than measurement 1--------------------D
5” larger than measurement 1--------------------E
6” larger than measurement 1--------------------F

After all the research about finding the right bra size, my measurements put me in the somewhat embarrassing category of 32A. I did indeed fall in the 7 out of 10 women who are wearing the wrong bra size. I figured models have smaller breasts right? It can’t be that bad. So I was off to the store to try on what I thought to be my “measured” bra size. The only problem was a 32A was giving me four breasts (you know the double-bubble affect) instead of two! I was back to square one asking myself “whats my bra size?”

Have a Professional Measure Your Correct Bra Size
Completely frustrated at the department store trying on the wrong size bras, I had to call in the little old woman sales assistant in the bra department to measure my size in the dressing room. I will admit I was a bit shy, but at least I would have a solid answer from a real bra professional. With the tape measure she too, measured the same measurements as I had myself. But when looking at me in the 32A, she saw the problem. She sweetly went out and searched for a 32B bra size for me to try. After trying on this new size it fit absolutely perfect! I was ecstatic and quite happy with the shape result and added perkiness.

The moral of the story is have a bra professional fit you with the proper bra size. Measuring with a tape measure may not be enough to get the perfect fit bra. And trust me, a correct size bra makes for a shapely, perky bosom with comfort. If your measured bra size is not translating well to the bra size try going up or down a cup or band size for the perfect fit.

What the Right Bra Size Shouldn’t Do
With so many ladies wearing the wrong bra size, I thought I would take a moment to discuss the signs that you might be wearing the wrong size bra. Below is a list of no-no’s when it comes to bra fit.
Breasts should not fall out below the bra when raising your hands above your head. If they do try, going down a band size
The middle part of your bra that sits between your breasts should sit flat on your rib cage. If it doesn’t try, going up a cup size.
The band of your bra should stay level around the circumference of your body. A band that rides up in the back means your band size is too big.
The bra straps should only be 10% of the support your bra gives. If your bras straps are doing all the work, consider going down a band size.
Breasts should fit comfortably into the bra cup with no overflow, double-bubble, or wrinkles in the bra fabric.
Your bra band should not be giving you the illusion of back fat. If this is happening try a larger band size or a difference style bra.

So,now make your bra fit with your's,do not make it wrong to wear and fell uncomfort.

Sport Jackets for Men's Fashion

November 15, 2007
With more business casuals, the role of sport jackets today have become more important and at the same time versatile. It helps to perk up dressiness from extreme casual attire. We are using many different types of fabrics for the jacket so that it can easily match other mens clothing and for different seasons too. Our usual suit jackets are meant to be worn with a pair matching pants in terms of fabric. Sport coats are not meant to be so. It allows mixture of the jacket with other types of pants. Overall we should be able to feel its casualness and sporty outlook.

Therefore, the details, silhouette, and cutting are generally more relaxed and break from the traditions found in suit jackets. For example, the use of elbow patches and metal buttons.

The fabrics available among sport coats are a lot more versatile because it can incorporate more sporty patterns or even take up woolly and thin weaved fabrics.

Some examples would be houndstooth, tweed, linen and cotton fabrics. In any way, these generally look more casual from the traditionally defined finishing and formal worsted wool suit jackets.

Another important aspect is its greater tolerance to be combined with other mens clothing. It can match dress shirts to sweaters to T-shirts without appearing out of place and perfectly blend up the look by bridging casualness and dressiness.

Looking Slimmer in Fashion Choose

Everyone wants to have that slim, beautiful body, but unfortunately it doesn’t always happen that way. Weather we don’t have time for the gym, or we just basically get lazy, sometimes fitness isn’t always at the top of our list (even if we think about it all the time!). So here are some secrets to not being slimmer, but at least looking slimmer!

Wear Monochromatic Colors.Staying away from patterns and an array of different colors is a good idea because you don’t draw so much attention to your problem areas. So try wearing no more than two colors at a time.

Stay Away From Baggy Clothes
Baggy clothes don’t hide your imperfections, they make them stand out! The best thing you can do is wear clothes that fit you. Not ones that are baggy, but not ones that are too tight either.

Wear Accessories
Again, accessories draw attention from any problem areas. So try stacking up some bangles on your arms, a long pair of necklaces , or just a sparkling brooch.

Wear a Lower Waistline
Choose pants that have lower waistlines. Make sure they have a flat front and no pleats, as that will make you look bigger. The lower waistline helps elongate your legs. Make sure the pants are long enough and they don’t cut off at the ankle.

Belt Mania
Wearing belts can give you longer legs, if you know how to wear them. Position it lower on your hips.

You Can Wear Skinny Jeans as Well as Bellbottoms
You can actually still wear skinny jeans as long as you pair them with a voluminous top or a long blazer. Make sure to add some sexy hells. Bellbottoms are best worn with a fitted top.

Men's Fashion Rules

It doesn’t matter where you are or what do you, being well dressed and looking good can never be something that’s too much to ask! There are some basic principles that especially men ignore which are simple and as natural as brushing your teeth or washing your hands but at the same time could put a suave metro sexual male like David Beckham to shame. The rules are easy to remember and the look achieved is to die for. Here's a list of tips and pointers to bear in mind while dressing up next time whether it’s for work or for that important date....

The first rule
relating to work gear is to never ever wear jeans or sneakers to work. I know not wearing jeans is still an achievable option but no sneakers! Doesn't one need comfort when one's working and walking around all the time? The answer is simple. Wear smart Italian loafers in a dark color. They are just as comfy as any other pair of sneakers but stylish as hell.
Walk around as much as you want. ....TIES are hot and should be worn more. If you are reading this article then you are fashion conscious and if you want to ace the art of dressing stylish then always wear a tie for work or for fun too. It doesn’t matter what color it is or if it even goes with your shirt. Fashion Industry's almighty Giorgio Armani says "As long as you're wearing a tie it doesn’t matter whether it matches your outfit or not. Because believe it or not you look more stylish with them than you would without them." Experiment with unconventional colors. Go bold, subtle, wild, or subdued with patterns. Stripes or dots, just about anything works.

....Work gear should be elegant and formal. A couple of black, gray, khaki, and brown chinos would work fine when mixed and matched with a number of formal shirts. If you prefer formality and propriety over comfort and ease then go for the traditional pleated straight cut pants. In these cuts colors like navy blue, military green look flattering. Flat front pants with a slight flair (boot leg) at the bottom look chic too. Avoid shirts that have prominent patterns. Try subtle colors like beige in self-prints that do not stand out. Pin-stripped shirts never go out of style. A plain crisp well-fitted shirt worn with pants that are tailor made and customized to your body forms an uncanny combo that can counter criticism from the Vogue magazine editor also.
....Socks of dark colors should be preferably worn because whites look too stark.
....Try to wear your hair neatly and to make sure its perfectly groomed use mousse or gel to make it last.
....For more important meetings make use of power dressing. Wearing a full suit for a meeting can make the right first impression. Keep the time of day and season in mind before picking out one. As against the massive belief suits aren't uncomfortable at all if they're cut well and custom made for your body. Infect you can feel so comfortable and confident at the same time in them that you'd never want to go back to your jeans and tee,
....Belt is one accessory that can make or break the entire ensemble. Go with the basics for work wear. But when you're partying there are no rules. Whatever your inner devil wants is fine. Do not hold back. Retro, contemporary or vintage all looks perfect if you have the queer eye for picking up stuff.
....Finally Leisure Wear does exist for men too. And it definitely doesn't mean boxers and a t-shirt. Wearing comfortable and beautifully made clothes will make your time even more special because you'll feel that much more better in the right clothes. Linen probably is the best fabric for leisure wear. Pants or even better pajamas of linen teamed with shirts of soft cotton or t-shirts complete the look. Linen is available in a wide variety of colors and there's a lot to experiment with.
....Smelling great will be the perfect end to a dressing ritual. Make the effort to use the same brand of after-shave, cologne, and eau de parfum. This way your fragrance lasts longer.
....Do not hesitate to wear shoes with heels if you are, well vertically challenged. Well-heeled shoes will make your pants seem more well cut.
....As a rule of thumb self-pinstriped dark colored pants will make you look taller and thinner. To flaunt a broader upper body team them with a light colored shirt.

Men's Fashion Mistakes

November 10, 2007
Men's Fashion sometime strange when he need hurry to choose something. But,if they are always not care about their own fashion,it will be a big mistake. While women make just as many questionable style choices (tight jeans with muffin tops, anyone?) as men, there’s not as much help out there for guys who are innocently undermining their look. Although many fashion slips apply equally to both sexes, there are several that are very male-specific. Since it’s true that people’s first impression of us is often based on appearance, we decided to spend some time browsing workplaces, stores, cafes, and bars to uncover the most common fashion mistakes men make and let you in on how to avoid them and improve your personal presentation.

Here are some views:

French cuffs without cuff links
Since it’s not necessary to wear most dress shirts with cuff links, many men seem to be unaware that shirts with French cuffs actually do need to be accompanied by cuff links. Essentially, French cuffs without cuff links are like a Playboy without the centerfold. If you have a shirt with French cuffs, cuff links are really the icing on the cake and will enhance your appearance by making you seem more presentable and smartly turned out. As well, since French-cuffed shirts are generally worn on more formal occasions, or at least in a business environment, the purpose of wearing such a shirt is to look polished -- a feat that is hard to accomplish when your sleeves are flapping about.

For those times when you need to dress like a gentleman or want to make an elegant style statement, French cuffs with some sweet cuff links peeking out from under the sleeve of your blazer are the way to go. And while it’s true that in recent years some very famous celebs have been spotted sporting French cuffs sans cuff links, unless you’re Brad Pitt, you just won’t be able to get away with that in real life since everyone will just assume you don’t know how to dress yourself.

Make your own suit
Creating your own suit refers to purchasing pants and jackets as separates, and then combining them with little regard for whether the two items can actually be worn together or not. Just because both your jacket and pants are black, it does not mean they belong together. Fabric, cut and hue variations all play a huge role in determining whether or not two separately purchased items will complement each other. A wool blazer, for instance, will look terrible and cheap when paired with polyester dress pants and vice versa. If you’re going to wear a suit, please make sure you bought the pieces as a set or you run the risk of seeming slightly ridiculous.

Sneakers with everything
Before you get angry and start leaving nasty comments, let me explain what I mean: While wearing uber-cool sneakers with a suit can be hip and very attractive, it’s not OK to refuse to remove your sneakers and insist that they go with everything you own. They don’t, and there are certainly times when a dressier look is called for and even preferred over something funkier. Plus, it’s a little boring to wear the same thing over and over. Part of having personal style is to mix things up occasionally and show others you can successfully work a variety of looks. Of course, it’s not necessary to own as many pairs of shoes as most girls do, but you should own more than a couple of pairs of sneakers, and you should certainly own at least one pair of dress shoes. You’ll need them for formal occasions or even for frequenting more upscale bars and clubs where a dress code is reinforced.

Too much hair product
Though others have condemned it before, this crime against fashion is such a frequent and heinous one that it bears repeated mentioning. Using too much of any kind of product in your hair results in gunky hair, and no girl wants to run her hands through a head full of gel. Think about it: If the situation were reversed, you most certainly wouldn’t want to have stiff, crunchy or gooey locks between your hands. Both sexes prefer soft, touchable hair, so find a way to make your style work without winding up with helmet head.

In addition, it’s really not healthy for your hair to be doused in hundreds of chemicals on a daily basis, so lighten up. For gels and conditioners, you really only need a dime-size amount for your entire head. Use no more than a large marble-size amount of mousse and when it comes to hairspray, hold the can a good five inches from your tresses, making sure to mist only very lightly. Putties and waxes should also be used very sparingly in order to avoid a flattened, greasy look. If you’re really at a loss on how to style your hair without half a bottle of product, ask your stylist to show you next time you go in for a hair cut.

How to Fit Your Hair Style and Cut with Face Shape

November 5, 2007
When woman have to decide to cut her hair in the salon and chose another hair style that in trend, she should to fit it to her face shape. Why it is important? If you are wrong, you will sorry your self and disappointed.Especially in front of the mirror. If hair style and hair cut fitted to our face shape and comfortable with this,we can follow to fix clothing.
Face shape is crucial in getting the most flattering hair cut. Celebrity clients spend thousands of dollars on the best stylists at the best salons, but you don't have to. The easiest way to find your face shape is to pull any bangs off your forehead into a clip, take a lipstick or a magic marker and outline your face in the mirror. Draw what you see, not what you think, and you may be surprised. Step back and consider the shape on the mirror as only a geometric design. Is it…

Face Shapes
Square
Rectangular
Oval (most common face shape)
Round
Heart Shaped
Triangular

If you Have an Oval Face Shape
If you look at most models and actresses, you'll notice that their faces tend to be oval. Oval faces look good in pretty much any hairstyle, especially styles that show off that perfect shape. Don't get bangs, and don't wear your hair in your face. For everyone else, hairstyles may be used to create the impression of having a "perfect" oval face. But you can also use your hairstyle to play up your best features regardless of your face shape.

Hair Cuts for Round Faces
There are two ways to address hairstyles for a round face. One way is to accentuate the roundness even further, with a bowl-shaped haircut, which can be very beautiful on the right woman. There's something widely appealing about transforming an unusual characteristic into a real feature, and playing up a round face is one way to be very much your own person, stylistically speaking. But if you don't want your face to look as round, choose a hair style that lengthens the look of your face. Have the top layered for fullness and height, and thinned out below the cheekbones to give the illusion of a narrower chin line. Go with medium to long hair. If you don't mind the extra time, running your hair through a straightening iron can be an extra sleek & sophisticated look.

Rectangular Face Hair Styles
A long, narrow face can be rounded a bit by hair that's kept short to medium in length, with wispy bangs. Fuller sides from the forehead to the middle of the cheekbones widen the face, and layers add fullness and volume to the hair. Long hair and center parts accentuate rectangular face shapes, making them appear longer.

Flattering Hairstyles for Heart Shaped Faces
You can have a lot of fun with new hair styles. The key here is to get a style with more fullness lower on the face, around the chin, and less fullness at the forehead. Sweep your hair back to show off your fabulous cheekbones. Short hair doesn't work as well on a heart shaped face, because it puts the emphasis at the top of your head. Keep your hair at least chin length, and light and wispy around the forehead.

Hair Lengths for Triangular Faces
If your chin or jaw is wider and your forehead narrower, add weight to the top of your head with layers that create fullness, thinning as it approaches the jaw. The shag was made for the triangular face! Short hair looks nice on a triangular face. Long hair doesn't work as well, but if you're attached to your hair and can't bear cutting it, try styles that pull your hair back as it falls below your cheekbones.

Elongate a Square with the right Hair
The square face can be elongated somewhat by added height on the top of the head. Layers on the crown and parting your hair off center help to reduce a square look. Wispy bangs and temples soften the squareness too, and may add roundness. Wavy hair adds to the softening effect; straight lines, straight bangs and straight or flat hair are to be avoided. Short or medium hair looks nice. Don't let any haircut end at your jawline.

The Best Shoes for Short and Mini Skirts

November 2, 2007
The whole point to wearing a mini skirt is to show off your legs. But the wrong footwear choice can actually call attention to things you'd rather not emphasize. Below are a few of the best choices in shoes to wear with short skirts, as well as a few styles to avoid.
Flip-Flops: If you're going super casual, flip flops or other flat sandals are a great look. If the skirt is simple, such as a denim mini, you can really perk up the look with a sandal that has beading, sequins or metallic detailing

Sneakers: It's definitely a casual look, but sneakers can work well with a short skirt, like a denim mini. Avoid puffy, cross-trainers, and stick with a streamlined classic. Keds would have a cute, somewhat preppy look, while Converse would add an edgy/urban twist.

Wedge Sandals: Mini skirts are all about the legs, and there are few things on earth that emphasize one's legs more than a pair of wedge sandals.
Espadrille, bohemian, strappy and woven styles all look great, but remember they should be sandals - as in open-toed. A closed-toe wedge is a little too heavy for a casual short skirt.

Flats: Due to the fact that they can add "heft," ballet flats and skimmers don't work very well with longer skirts. But with they can look great with short skirts. Look for a pretty, simple style (nothing too fussy), and pair it with a casual or semi-casual mini for a look that's all leg, and all feminine.

Tall Boots: Knee-high boots, or boots that fall just below the knee have become a short-skirt staple, especially in cooler weather. Flat or heeled, and with or without tights, tall boots are an ideal match for shorter skirts, but the boots should be simple in design. Brown and black are especially good colors for this look.

Kitten Heels: Kitten heels are usually a rather delicate style of shoe, so they can work very well with short skirts. Thongs, slides, and strappy sandals with a small, low heel help accentuate the "leggy" look you hope for with a mini skirt.

Shoes to Be Careful With
What we see on the runways isn't always the best look for real life, or all body types. While some of the following shoes can look really hot when paired with mini skirts, many of us will need to proceed with caution.
* Ankle Boots: Ankle boots can really do a number on some women's legs, making them seem bulkier and shorter than they actually are. Women with very thin legs might also struggle pulling off this look, as skinny calves could appear to be swimming inside of ankle boots.
If you love your legs, give it a shot, otherwise stick with a less risky option.

* Stiletto Heels: Painful, yes; impractical, of course, but many still feel that a stiletto heel makes women's legs look sexier than any other type of shoe. So then, you'd think they'd be a natural with a mini skirt -- but they might not.
Because of the extra sex appeal of stilettos, it could become "too much of a good thing" to pair them with a short skirt. If you have impeccable taste, do as you please. If you're the type to worry that the look is cheap, then you might want to skip this combo.

* High Heeled Pumps:For all the same reasons you might choose to skip stilettos, you may want to reconsider wearing high heeled pumps with mini skirts. Additionally, these shoes can sometimes be a bit too heavy looking for the carefree feel of most minis.

Footwear to Avoid with Short Skirts
Unless you're an athlete, or it's part of some uniform you're being forced to wear, the following shoes are too bulky for most mini skirts.
* Oxfords
* Bulky Shoes
* Cross-Trainers
* Clogs
* Socks
